Among the various power supply for LED lighting drive and linear constant current drive are the two common low-cost power supply of non-switching. LED lights driven by one of the two drivers may blink or possess low efficiency of electric power during AC voltage fluctuations. The operation principle of the two drivers was described, and the source of the above issues was analyzed. In order to solve the problems, an improved scheme of linear constant current driver combined with a chopper was proposed. The validity of the analyses was confirmed through experiments.
