. The PLL LPF to suppress out-of-band noise(no need for bulky off-chip SAW filter
. Accurate phase shift is eaiser at lower frequency Disadvantages
. Enough isolation is still required to suppress LO pulling
. Only constant envelop modulation scheme is allowed
. Wide power control dynamic range is not easily obtained
