The mainstream hot plug control strategies are analyzed and function structure of the hot Swap Controller TPS2491 is introduced. Taking the design of 24V power backplane bus data acquisition card for example, the paper introduces in detail the hot swap protection circuit design process based on TPS2491.The circuit design was tested and the validation results show circuit design can effectively suppress the surge current during the hot-swap.
