National foreword This British Standard is the UK implementation of EN 61784-3-6:2008. It is identical to IEC 61784-3-6:2007. The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee AMT/7, Industrial communications: process measurement and control, including fieldbus. A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to its secretary. This publication does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users are responsible for its correct application. Compliance with a British Standard cannot confer immunity from legal obligations. The text of document 65C/470/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 61784-3-6, prepared by SC 65C, Industrial networks, of IEC TC 65, Industrial-process measurement, control and automation, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 61784-3-6 on 2008-05-01.
