1. Introduction This application note describes the implementation of the sensorless Motor Control Reference Solution Package (MCRSP) software for a three-phase AC Induction Machine (ACIM), including machine parameters identification algorithm on Freescale 32-bit Kinetis MKV31F and MKV46F MCUs. The sensorless control software and ACIM control theory in general is described in Sensorless ACIM Field-Oriented Control (document DRM150). The motor parameter-identification theory and algorithms are described in Section 4.1, “ACIM parameter identification”. Freescale High-Voltage Motor-Control Platform consisting of HVP-MC3PH power stage and HVP-KV31F120M or HVP-KV46F150M controller cards (described at the beginning of this document) is used as a hardware platform for the ACIM control reference solution. The hardware-dependent part of the sensorless control software, which includes peripheral setup and the Motor Control Peripheral Drivers (MCDRV), is described as well. The last part of the document describes the user interface represented by the Motor Control Application Tuning (MCAT) page based on FreeMASTER run-time debugging tool. These tools represent a simple and user-friendly way for machine parameter identification, algorithm tuning, software control, debugging, and diagnostics. 1.1. High Voltage Motor-Control Platform The Freescale three-phase High-Voltage Motor-Control Platform (HVP) is a 115/230 V, 1 kW power stage, which is an integral part of Freescale embedded motion-control series of development tools. It is a part of the HVP-MC3PH kit. In combination with one of the controller cards based on Kinetis MKV31F512VLL12 and MKV46F256VLL15 MCUs (HVP-KV31F120M or HVP-KV46F150M controller cards), it provides a software development platform for more than one-horsepower motors. The block diagram of a complete High-Voltage Motor-Control Platform is shown in this figure: The HVP power stage setup is not difficult. Building a complete development platform is easy and straightforward.
