In the design of high-voltage high-power inverters, the drive and protection of IGBT is very important. Usually, IGBT can endure a few microseconds over-current time. Thus, a reliable over-current protection circuit is vital to the steady and reliable operation of the power supply. The common over-current protection circuit judges if the IGBT has over-current by detecting the voltage between the collector and the emitter of the IGBT.
