The analysis on the clamping circuit of flyback converter is insufficient in Power Electronics course. The detailed operation principles of flyback converter are analyzed in this paper. The influence of the clamping circuit on the energy transformation efficiency is presented,based on which the principles and steps for the design of the RCD-clamping circuit for the flyback converter are provided. This paper can help to understand the operation principles and characteristics of the flyback converter thoroughly,and to design the clamping circuit effectively,which has certain significance for the education of power electronics.
