Abstract：In order to improve the dynamic characteristics of cold rolling temper mill hydraulic pressure
system，a new PID parameter control method—genetic algorithm was proposed．By using
MATLAB／SIMULINK software to solve the optimization mode1．the PID control parameter self-tuning
was achieved．The optimized PID parameters and Z-N tuning PID control efects were com‘
pared and the results showed that：the genetic algorithm PI D control is much better than that of
the Z-N tuning PID contro1．Furtherm0re．the feasibility and practicality of the genetic algorithm
were verified as wel1．
