This paper introduces a locomotive position detection circuit based on LDC1314. This circuit uses Arduino as the main controller, LDC1314 and four PCB coils as sensors. The sensor PCB coil is placed under the rail, when the locomotive passes on the rail, The metal eddy current effect will cause changes in the inductance of the PCB coil. The microcontroller reads the corresponding data of the LDC1314 through the I2 C bus to determine the position of the locomotive and the occupancy of the track, effectively avoiding mechanical jamming and improving the system detection.
