This article deals not only with the introduction of the principle of scanning circuit for 4*4 keyboard based on the FPGA,but also with the improvement of the common design by means of VHDL in order to make it more stable.With the design the keyboard code,together with its application range,has been extended by means of "Combination key".It can be used as a basis for input module,and provide a strong support of control input and data input for the other modules.
